The Moonlit Face

Gazing through the window
staring at the stars in the sky
I felt the cool breeze
Caressing my hair
Standing and listening to the fading sounds
Silence set in all around
Trying to hear the whispers of the night
Searching for a familiar face,
In the oblivious night.

I saw an innocent child
Unaware of the observer
He was sleeping on the bench
With the blanket of night
He, who had the angel eyes,
Calm and serene
Was his moonlit face.
Healing the wound received that day
His, was the moonlit face.
